Genesis41 Solutions - Louisiana Home Improvement and Solar

Orphaned Solar System Service in Louisiana & Mississippi

Your installer closed, the app stopped updating, and nobody answers the phone. We help homeowners get abandoned solar systems checked, monitored and ready to keep the lights on when the grid goes down.

Is your solar system orphaned?

  • The company that installed it has closed, gone bankrupt or stopped returning calls.
  • Your monitoring app shows no data, an old login no longer works, or the gateway is offline.
  • Panels were installed but the system was never connected or never received permission to operate.
  • An inverter, gateway or battery shows a fault and nobody will honor the workmanship warranty.
  • You do not know whether your system would power anything during an outage.

Why this is happening across the Gulf South

Several large residential solar companies have shut down or restructured since 2024. Louisiana-based PosiGen ceased most operations in August 2025, and its lease portfolio was later transferred to new servicers. Northshore installer Tren Solar closed in 2025, and local news reported Louisiana and Mississippi homeowners left with systems that were never turned on. National companies including SunPower and Sunnova also went through bankruptcy.

If your system is leased or on a PPA, the company that now owns your lease is usually responsible for repairs. Check your latest statement or the successor servicer first. If you own your system, there may be no successor at all, and that is where an independent local contractor can help.

What we do for orphaned systems

  • System health check: panels, wiring, inverters or microinverters, gateway, meter and any battery.
  • Monitoring revival: reconnect or replace the communications gateway so you can see production again, using the equipment manufacturer's own platform where compatible. We service any and all solar brands.
  • Repair and replacement: failed inverters, damaged wiring, storm damage and roof-penetration leaks, coordinated with our roofing crew.
  • Battery backup add-on: many grid-tied systems shut off during an outage by design. Adding a battery or generator integration lets your home keep critical circuits running when the grid is down.
  • Leased systems too: we service any and all solar brands, including leased systems. If your system is leased, also check what your current lease servicer covers.

What to have ready when you call

  • Your installer's name and install year, if you know them
  • Inverter or panel brand (often on a label at the inverter or in your paperwork)
  • Whether you own the system, financed it with a loan, or lease it
  • A screenshot of the monitoring app or any error message
